CitySpace. Covid 19 Policy for Hotel, Work Space and Café location in Borough & Bermondsey, London

General

The health and safety of our guests, members, staff and visitors is our biggest priority. We have therefore enhanced our cleaning regime to ensure that all areas of our property are clean, and this is maintained throughout the day. Below is a breakdown of the measures we have implemented within our properties to maintain a safe environment for all.

We ask that all who enter our properties are aware of our policies and work with us so that we can maintain a safe environment for all. Staff working at our properties will wear suitable PPE, to include face coverings, gloves and aprons.

Temperature checks

Automatic hands-free temperature checkers to check the temperature of all hotel guests staying overnight and all members to our workspace. Any of these persons entering our buildings will be required to complete a check. Anyone displaying a temperature above 38°C will be notified with an alarm that would sound and will not be permitted into the building and to follow NHS advice.

Hand Sanitiser

Hand sanitisation stations will be available at all entry points. Persons entering our properties will be required to use hand sanitiser upon arrival.

Face masks

While face coverings are not compulsory, it is recommended that persons passing through our spaces wear suitable face coverings. Staff working at our properties will be provided with suitable PPE.

Social Distancing

In line with government guidelines, social distancing will be in force and markers will be placed throughout our properties to remind all to remain 2 meters apart to maintain a safe environment for all.

Eat

Our café will be open to the general public, however initially will be for take away only, in order to support social distancing measures. When it is safe to offer eat in options, this will be communicated on our relevant online platforms and procedures will be amended in line with government guidance on how to safely operate with such changes.

Maximum Capacities

Based on government advice, we will implement maximum capacities in certain areas of our business. At certain times, it may be required to queue at entry points to ensure that social distancing can be maintained. Please follow the instructions of our team at these times.

One way system

A one-way system will be in operation within all areas of the property. Café guests will use a specified door on entry where there will be one line for service and a second line to collect orders.  There will be clearly marked directional signage. We will also operate a click and collect service, where guests collecting orders will need to use the one way / queue system.

Food Service

While our food items will be displayed on our main café counter, a CitySpace server will be serving all guests. We will have revised food & beverage offerings with a limited range of food and beverages, such as hot and cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches, salads and sweets. All items will be served in closed containers.

Screens

We will not initially be placing screens in our café as a 2 meter distance can be maintained by our staff and guests.

Reusable Coffee Cups

Reusable coffee cups will not be permitted to reduce cross contamination

Single Serve Items

We will replace shared condiments with single portion condiments and ensure that all cutlery is given to guests with their orders.

Toilets

Toilets will not be available while we operate a takeaway only service.

Ventilation

The front door for our café will remain open during normal business hours to increase the ventilation.

Sleep

Bedrooms

We have heightened sanitisation in bedrooms and public areas, including our café and workspace. This has involved removing all soft furnishings, such as cushions, throws and any touch point devices for increased hygiene. We continue to offer a daily service of rooms and windows will be left ajar to increase the ventilation. 

Questionnaire

Guests staying within our hotel bedrooms will be requested to complete a pre arrival questionnaire. This will enable us to ensure that guests who are entering the UK are adhering to the 14-day quarantine rules and are not putting others at risk.

Registration Documentation

Guests with pre booked stays within our hotel rooms will be required to complete all arrival registration details online prior to arrival at the property. This is to limit the level of contact with our staff and to ensure that social distancing can be maintained.

One way system

A one-way system will be in operation within all areas of the property, as below;

All guests arriving for stays will be required to use the specified hotel entrance door, which will be signed. Upon arrival guests are requested to enter the café lobby to complete a temperature check and be greeted by a member of our guest services team. Once completed, guests will be directed to their room. Within the hotel corridors, social distancing should be maintained, and measure will be in place to support this, such as signage.

Breakfast

We will continue to offer breakfasts for our hotel guests, which we recommend pre-booking in advance. In order to ensure that social distancing is in place, hotel breakfasts will be served delivered to our guests in their rooms and we will not offer an eat in option.

Visitors

Only registered guests will be permitted to hotel bedrooms.

Shared Bathrooms

Within the hotel where there are shared bathrooms a maximum of 1 other room will share a bathroom and these will be cleaned between uses.

Hand Hygiene 

As per government advice, we will promote good hand hygiene throughout the day. Posters will be mounted, and guests will be promoted to adhere to good hand hygiene practices

Ventilation

Hotel bedroom windows will be left ajar prior to arrival to increase ventilation. In confined areas such as hotel corridors, where ventilating these areas is more difficult, portable air conditioning units will be in place during the day. The front door for our café will remain open during normal business hours.

Guest Assist

We have rolled out our GuestAssist app to enhance the experience for our guests. This offers up to date information on the area and the option to reach out to a member of our team 24 hours a day. Details on how to download this will be communicated prior to arrival.

Re-entry

In order to ensure that we are able to safely maintain the health and safety for all within our properties, registered guests will be promoted to use hand sanitiser upon their return to the property.

Driving

The entrance to our Borough property is within the congestion and ULEZ charging zones. The congestion charge is £11.50 per day (Mon-Fri) and is in force from 7am to 6pm. From 22nd June 2020, this will increase to £15.00 per day and the hours of operation change will change to 7am to 10pm, 7 days per week. The ULEZ is in force 24 hours per day 7 days a week. Parking

Our Borough property is located on a red route and stopping directly outside the entrance is not permitted. On street parking is available locally. During controlled hours, parking can be paid by paybyphone service, information is available at parking locations and further information can be found at parkopedia.com

There are a number of secure covered parking areas locally, located both inside and outside of the congestion charging zone, which may be convenient for guests wanting to walk from the car park to the property to avoid the congestion charge. Further details can be found;

Work

The health and safety of our members, visitors and staff is our biggest priority. We have therefore enhanced our cleaning regime to ensure that all areas of our property are clean and this is maintained throughout the day with thorough cleaning being conducted overnight.

Work Spaces

Desks will be cleaned overnight. We ask that members help in this process by keeping desks and surfaces clear.

Kitchen

The kitchen will be cleaned hourly as part of our regular cleaning schedule. During busier times of the day, our team will check the area more frequently. We ask for members support in keeping the area tidy, by asking that dirty dishes be placed in the dishwasher and rubbish placed in the appropriate bins. Sanitiser and cleaning cloths are available for members to use between scheduled cleaning and members are encouraged to wipe town surfaces and after use.

Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms will be cleaned overnight as per the regular schedule. Antibacterial wipes will be available to wipe down areas between internal meetings if requested.

High Frequency Touch Points

High touch areas such as door handles have been reduced where possible. Doors that can be safely left open will be to increase ventilation and reduce the number of touch points will be. Where this is not possible such as toilet cubicle doors, foot door openers will be in place.

Visitors

Visitors to our workspace should be communicated to our guest services team at the earliest convenience via email. This will enable smooth access to the building. Contractors will be scheduled in advance and communicated to all affected persons in advance, with relevant RAMS provided in advance.

Shower Rooms

Communal shower rooms will be cleaned after each use. In order to facilitate this, members will need to advise a member of the team when finished, to ensure that these are cleaned for the next member.

Re-entry

In order to ensure that we are able to safely maintain the health and safety for all within our properties, all who enter our properties will be requested to complete the arrival checks on their return.

Post and Packages

All post and packages will be delivered to offices as previously done.

Food Deliveries

We request that if you order a food delivery, you are at the entrance lobby upon arrival to accept the delivery to ensure that we can keep the area clear.

Members Lunch

Lunch will continue to be served however in order to assist with social distancing, items will be served in closed containers within the lounge area, where social distancing can be maintained. Further details will be published on the members portal.

Toilets

Toilets will be checked on an hourly basis to ensure a high level of sanitation. Surface cleaning sanitiser will be available in the communal hand washing area and flushable antibacterial wipes will be available within each toilet cubicle for members to use. Paper towels as well as touch free Dyson hand dryers are available for members.

As per government advice, we will promote good hand hygiene throughout the day. Posters will be mounted, and members will be promoted to adhere to good hand hygiene practices.

Ventilation

Our workspace is air conditioned throughout normal business hours with fresh air flow coming into the building through vents. When required internal doors can be opened to increase ventilation without compromising security.

Air Quality

Due to the capacity within our workspace, air quality monitors will be in place, to monitor the quality of the air within the space. Doors can be left opened to increase ventilation, which can be managed by our members.
